Laminates or Veneers are a custom made layer of Resin or ceramic which is fixed on the tooth surface to change shape, colour or size of the teeth. It is usually done for front teeth as the load bearing capacity is less compared to crowns.
There are different types of Veneers
1. Direct Composite Veneers
The veneering is done on the patient’s mouth directly. We use high quality composite resin for this.
2. Indirect Veneers
The tooth is prepared and the measurement is taken. The veneer is prepared in the lab using composite or ceramic and is fixed to the tooth surface. This procedure needs two appointments to finish the procedure.
These are extremely thin laminates which need very minimal tooth preparation. It can be used in midline space closing or mild corrections of tooth deformity or discoloration.
